Malcolm Fraser, born in Canada, was then living in Brookhaven, NY, was a winter resident in Orlando, Florida and frequent visitor to the Ormond area.  Mr. Fraser, an accomplished artist offered the town of Ormond his collection of 56 original oil on canvas paintings provided they were housed in an adequate gallery. This fascinating story is told between the covers of this commemorative book.

This fascinating story is told by Ron and Alice Howell, local historians and authors of this long overdue book about the origin and 70-year journey of the “Ormond Memorial Art Museum & Gardens” organization.  Over a year and half in research and development, this story is about the people and circumstances in post WWII that formed and shaped this magnificent Art Museum and beautiful 4-acre garden in the center of down-town Ormond on the peninsula.   Our presentation highlights early Ormond history surrounding the museum inception, the dedication and accomplishments of early investors and the inspiration that carried this wonderful Art Museum and Gardens through 7-decades of serving the community.
